Six years ago, two 9 Year old Girls were given their first taste of cricket in their respective Primary Schools by the Coach from the Frenchay CTS Programme. They enjoyed the experience so much that each decided to join Frenchay Cricket Club. Georgie Hunt from Frenchay C of E Primary and Molly Bliss from Bromley Heath Junior, have since progressed through the Frenchay and Gloucestershire County Age Group Squads, and both have now also played ‘Senior’ cricket for Frenchay at the tender age of 15.

However all this pails into the background now, because they have just experienced the chance of a lifetime. They flew 5000 miles to play cricket in Sri Lanka as part of the Gloucestershire U17 Girls Tour. Pictured are Georgie (left) and Molly, having just played at the Test Match Arena at Pallekele in Kandy.

Who would have believed this story was possible back in 2012? You can never predict where things can go (with a lot of commitment and support). Thank you ChanceToShine (and all those along the way) for providing these Girls with the initial opportunity to become involved with Cricket.
