Behaviour

A very high standard of behaviour is expected of all pupils. We have a positive behaviour management policy that regularly rewards good behaviour. Rewards include individual certificates, class golden coins and golden time.  Raffle tickets are awarded as an extra incentive and there is a prize draw in assembly every week; names added to the class ‘Recognition Board’, and text messages or postcards sent home to share positives. We have three simple rules which we use to celebrate and remind where needed:

At Bromley Heath Junior School and in our Wider Community …

  1. We show kindness in our actions and words.
  2. We respect ourselves and everyone equally.
  3. We are responsible for our words, actions and environment.

There are consequences, such as a warning or Time Out, for children who do not stick to the agreed rules displayed in every classroom. If any child’s behaviour gives serious cause for concern, the teacher or a member of the Senior Leadership Team will contact parents to discuss any support strategies that may be required.
