Personal Development
Our BHJS curriculum extends beyond the academic subject knowledge and skills that are taught. It aims to promote the personal, social, spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of the children, preparing them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life. We are committed to maintaining this breadth to our children’s experiences in order to grow their skills and confidence to be successful both now and in their future lives.
BHJS develops and grows children’s personal development in many ways within and across the curriculum.
This includes but is not limited to:
- A secure and consistent approach to behaviour
- Clear and purposeful core values and key principles leading our curriculum
- Active promotion of physical health and exercise
- Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural learning growth (SMSC) alongside British Values
- Opportunities to broaden life experiences and cultural capital through trips, visits, clubs, enrichment and diversity curriculum
- A focus on mental health, mindfulness, Oracy and personal wellbeing
